ULTRAPOP is ironic, none of the artists involved in this release consider himself as a pop star however because the opposites ends of the spectrum sometimes circle around and become almost connected, "ultrapop" is very close to "underground" but at the same time is gentle, groovy, funky...
this is innovation without scaring the masses...progress from progressive.... you can put your own label here: discopsy? teknogroovy? elektroprogressive? funkygoa? rhytmadelic trance? whatever!! enjoy the music and feel the positive (ultra)pop vibes...

the suite sweet starts with "PHAT KONTROLLERZ : SIMPLE CONTROL COMPLEX" those new kids on the block from australia express a very mature classic prog sound, with occasional dive into dark melodic, a driving funky step and a wink of elektrodisco."Phat Kontrollerz"is TRISTAN BOYLE and DENNIS FREDERICKS.
"ANTISCARP WARRIORS:INVALEAD" those are the warriors from the finnish underground label Antiscarp : VILLE RUOHO (also known as "la Calamare" and for his partecipation in the band "Salakavala") and MATS LEMSTROM ("Masatronics"). Underground SuomiSound (finnish) has progressed a lot in the last years and acquired a groovy touch together with the remarkable lysergic "soft" feeling...from the forest to the club, from the club to the forest...
"KIWA - OFFSET" MAKE LOUHIO has created a peculiar funky sound that progressed a lot in the last years growing in solidity and, without loosing his original creative power, moving towards a more teknoish minimal huge wave for the pure joy of the dancefloor..this is in our opinion his best production until now.
"LOOPUS IN FABULA - THE CASBAH" MATTEO STROPPA here is tryng to surprise again his public with another of the multifaceted side of loopus...here the disko feelings are blended with elektrosound...the title is an eyewink to "the clash - rocking the casbah" and the song is disseminated with Clash samples:spot it amongst flutes, guitars and stuff! this is the ultrapop game.
from here the compilation has a change of mood and enter securely into a dark night realm: "PRAECOX - FRAKTALIK PENIS" followed by "KINO OKO - CZAKRUM AND BOCIANUM". PRAECOX is JUREK PRZEZDZIECKI and KINO OKO is GREGORZ MAGNUSZEWSKI the 2 guys are know already to the big public for their project BIGWIGS. What do you expect from a FRAKTALIK PENIS? The song evolve from a elektroghost mood into a solid and fast rythm (143bpm this is the fastest track of the comp)a psycho dancefloor killer for sure. CZAKRUM AND BOCIANUM has a more minimal big boomy bass supported by funky slapping..surprisingly interrupted by melodic 80's elektro sounds.
"LOOPUS IN FABULA - THE CHASE" loopus here in a more darkish nocturnal fashion. Starting from moroder "the chase" bass then abrutly going on with a minimal etnotekno groove, a break in the middle and a more funky happy finale ...typically "loopus"!
"DENDRON - SUPERNATURAL JAZZ" this is the project of MERV PEPLER from EAT STATIC: an ultrapop acclaimed group that need no introduction at all!! this a more breakbeatish song where the title says all..a slight pause from the previous full-on sound preparing the joyful finale.
"POPPER HNOOL-DISCO" ALEXEY KOVALEV is almost a (ultra)pop star in russia with his main project "Transdriver"..this is his side disco-funky project which anyway clearly show the trance background with his little tricks, the progression, the tense...art of the dancefloor drive!
"SIENIS - NIFTY FIFTY" this happy funky goa track was written by EKI JOKISALO for the 50th birthday of his father..showing him how it's easy to connect the past power of pop with the psychedelic ultrapop of the future!..
